What is Adopt a Grandparent?

Adopt a Grandparent is an experience you will never forget, and will be one of the most cherished opportunities you have here at BYU. We generally ask volunteers to visit regularly with a grandparent they work with, but if you would like to volunteer in another way, please let us know and we will let you know what other opportunities are available. We have several centers we work with in the Provo/Orem area, and currently need help in the following locations:

·  Cove Point Assisted Living (driving distance, carpools available)

·  Provo Rehabilitation & Nursing (walking/biking distance, carpool available)

·  Lake Ridge Retirement Center (driving distance, carpool available)

There is some brief information on each of those links, but if you have any other questions, please, please, please do not hesitate to give one of us a phone call or send us a text. I know there's a lot of information to digest, so we are happy to answer any questions you have about the program.

Volunteer Commitment: One-hour weekly visits.

Experiences:

Experiences

I volunteer with Adopt a Grandparent, and arrange visits to a local nursing home. I had such a fun time visiting with one specific resident. She had so much energy and excitement as we talked, and it was so contagious! Our visit was so positive and impactful for her, and I'm so glad I took the time to volunteer! I felt the Spirit and came much closer to the Savior.
