What is Brighter Horizons?
This program provides a wide range of service opportunities for teenagers in state facilities and correctional institutions. As a volunteer, you mentor these teens to help them develop a love for service and a desire to serve and contribute positively in their communities.
Volunteer Commitment: We have programs on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, generally at 10 a.m. We usually meet at Jamba Juice in the Wilkinson Center and send out an email with the specific times and locations before each activity.

Experiences
A couple of weeks ago, we were able to make decorations to take to the hospital with the girls. That morning I had gotten up super early to study and was pretty stressed about an upcoming midterm. As we served I just felt super happy. That hour and a half really gave me the boost I needed for the rest of the day.
