It has been incredible to see the reaction of the charities that we serve. One woman told me that through this day of service, they are able to get more projects done than they could do by themselves. It was amazing to hear that this event really does make an impact.
I know a lot of people see Monday as just a cool holiday, you know an extra day off, but to take just a little chunk of their day to get to learn about … who Martin Luther King Jr. is and how we can make an impact in this world … is so worth the time.
This event is only a few hours long and is the best thing I've done with my morning on Martin Luther King Day! They have so many different ways to serve at the event. It was an extremely uplifting experience that I would recommend to anyone.
This past year was my family's fifth time participating in Martin Luther King Jr. Community Outreach Day. My kids love coming to serve in little ways. The best part of this day is that everyone can serve which makes it a special experience for people of all ages!
