MLK Community Outreach Day.mp4

Takes place annually in the morning of Martin Luther King Jr. Day starting in the WSC Garden Court.

MLK Community Outreach Day unites both the BYU and local communities in a celebration of giving. As a one-day event, MLK Community Outreach Day seeks to celebrate Dr. King's legacy of selfless service and provide opportunities to serve God's children within our community and throughout the world. The event consists of free refreshments, a cultural celebration, and various service projects throughout the area.

How do I get involved?

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteer Description: Volunteers arrive and sign up to serve on the day of the event. Prior to the service activities, volunteers have the opportunity to attend a devotional. The first 100 volunteers are also given a free T-shirt in thanks for their amazing service. No additional steps are needed to volunteer for the event.

BECOME A HEAD VOLUNTEER

Head Volunteer Description: Head Volunteers lead a service program with another head volunteer during Outreach day. Non-head volunteers will arrive at the event and sign up to volunteer in your program. Head Volunteers oversee the events of their program, help and encourage volunteers in their efforts, provide support with event set-up/clean-up and participate in a training before the event. You will be contacted via the email you give for more information. Head Volunteers need to arrive at 8:00 AM.
