Digital Literacy
What is Digital Literacy?
Digital Literacy, formerly Digital Inclusion, is a program that seeks to equip people with the technology tools they need to succeed in everyday work and life. Digital Literacy partners with United Way of Utah County to teach classes to all who are interested.
How do I get involved?
Volunteer Description: Volunteers help others learn basic technology and job preparation skills. We do everything from teaching how to send an email to how to create a stellar resume. As a college student, you are more than qualified for this task. It's time to show off your technological wizardry! If you are interested, please fill out this form, or contact any of the leaders on the "Contact Us" tab with questions.
Volunteer Commitment: Volunteers commit to attend the same weekly class for the duration of the semester. During Fall and Winter, there are 10-week courses that are 1 hour per week. If you'd like to join in the middle of the semester, that's fine too! Fluency in Spanish, Russian or another language is useful for some classes, but is not required.

Volunteer leaders may also share the responsibilities of volunteers as outlined in the Volunteer Description. For more information, visit our section called Be a Leader!
Volunteer Leader Commitment: In addition to volunteering, Volunteer leaders commit to a 1-hour monthly team meeting to discuss needs and make plans for the program.

I loved having the opportunity to be a part of Digital Inclusion this semester. It was such a blessing to work with the seniors, and they were always interested in learning more. I also learned a ton about Google Suite myself. Thanks for everything!
I am super grateful for the opportunity to serve! At times, it can seem like there is nowhere to serve or that all the good opportunities are taken up, but Digital Inclusion is refreshing. It's simple, easy, and a great opportunity.
