What is MyHometown Provo?
At MyHometown Provo, we are dedicated to empowering our community through education and support. Our center offers a wide range of free classes and programs designed to enrich the lives of individuals and families. Whether you're interested in expanding your horizons or building essential life skills, we have something for everyone.
How do I get Involved?
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Volunteer Description: Volunteers have the opportunity to teach various skills, including English, piano, and computer literacy. They can also assist children with reading and provide tutoring in other subjects. Many additional opportunities are available to make a meaningful impact here in Provo.
Volunteer Commitment: Volunteers are typically encouraged to commit to 1.5 hours of service per week for a semester.
Opportunities:
ESL (generally for Spanish speakers, but anyone is welcome) | Tuesday & Thursday mornings 9:30 AM - 11 AM, Tuesday & Thursday nights 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM |
ASL | Wednesday nights 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM |
Beginning Spanish | Wednesdays 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM |
Piano Lessons | Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM |
Tutoring | Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Also available any day at Franklin Elementary during school hours. |
Parenting, Finance, and Computer Help | TBD |

BECOME A LEADER
Volunteer Leader Description: There are two kinds of leadership positions: Lead Program Director and Program Director. A program only has one Lead Program Director, but multiple program directors. Leaders are generally responsible for overseeing recruitment, retention, and reflection with volunteers. They also coordinate service with community partners and ensure their program runs smoothly. Volunteer leaders may also share the responsibilities of volunteers as outlined in the Volunteer Description. For more information, visit our section called Be a Leader!
Volunteer Leader Commitment: In addition to volunteering, Volunteer leaders commit to a 1-hour monthly team meeting to discuss needs and make plans for the program.
