Service Council

What is Service Council?

Service Council Video

Fifteen students are selected to serve on the Service Council. These Council members typically have served in leadership positions in the Center for Service and Learning. The Service Council is responsible for training current Lead Program Directors and Program Directors in leadership skills and program administration. Each Service Council member oversees five or six of Y-Serve’s 70 programs.

The Service Council operates under the close supervision of the Y-Serve director who trains them in advanced leadership skills. Council members in turn train student leaders, plan events, conduct regular stewardships, and plan and attend several student-leader retreats during the year.
