Vida Sana
What is Vida Sana?
Vida Sana is a volunteer-led program that empowers participants to better understand—and possibly prevent—chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Through accessible education, personal support, and a strong community network, the program helps participants make and maintain healthy lifestyle changes. Participants get to meet with volunteers in small group settings to learn and connect with others.
How Do I Get Involved?
Volunteer Description: Using curriculum created by BYU professors and board certified doctors, volunteers will have the opportunity to teach small classes online or in person concerning health and wellness in either English or Spanish. Serving as supportive peers who offer encouragement, accountability, and motivation by creating meaningful relationships, will help participants create new lifestyle habits. Volunteers will also encourage participants to join and also attend seminars with BYU professors and board-certified doctors and activities held by Vida Sana.
Volunteer Commitment: We ask that volunteers commit to volunteer for at least two semesters (Fall-Winter), 1-3 hours a week!
